I'll take one. My 85 turns off after 10 sec. and it's kind of sucks.

Looks like I'll need to put a cap on the first group buy. I may limit the number of units to 20. (These are being "built to order")
When I've reached the limit for the initial group buy, I'll send you my paypal address via PM.

After the first 20 slots are filled I'll start the second GB, and let you know when to paypal me.

Hmm...what happens if you have non-stock speakers with bigger magnets, could there be a clearance issue?

I want one, but, how long will it be until your next batch? My car is down for the count, so I dont need to take one from someone else, but I will def cut in line if your next batch is over a month away. ;) lmk

Not a prolbem - The relay is *below* the speakers, not behind it.

My plan is have 20 ready to ship by Monday - that's the plan anyways. I'll be placing a larger order for parts (each unit contains over 20 parts) and get that next day - so hopefully I can say one step ahead of the demand. I'll glady take down names for the next batch, but I will not accept paypal untill I have the first batch done. I'd rather not have angry customers.

Not at this time. I may lengthen the "key on" delay time very slightly before shipping this batch. I'd be interested in what other have to say. You really don't want it on for very long - and believe it or not, when you are in a hurry, a few seconds is a LONG time.

Do the lights come on when you turn the car off, like the newer models? I like that feature on my E36.

If you want to wire it in you can. Last night I started testing to see how large of a load that this will work with "in the real world" testing. I had 3 large break light bulbs all running off of it at once before I blew the fuse on my benchtop power supply. :(

Well if that is true, than that is not a problem. I have it installed on a 325is, and according to BMW's electrical diagrams, the only time they changed the wiring is on 92 e30. (in 92 they removed the relay all together)

So, if you have the relay, you're fine. Every e30 I've seen has them.

To check to see if you do with out removing anything, go out when it is REALLY quite, and stick your head about where the speaker is. Then with a finger push the switch on the door jam. You should hear a very quite "click" from the relay.

george quick question regading the unit - in 2 of the previous e30s ive owned ive seen the relay socket there you speak of with no relay plugged in ever, so would your unit just plug in there and work from the get go?

after i do up my audio, i gotta get me one of these.

it seems like that should be easy to add since there is already a function for key on. just add one for key off? i would think it shouldnt be too hard? idk that would really be nice to have though
