    rust issues! Sucks

Well had a chance to look at the car today, engine runs great, gave it a half ass cleaning and am going to replace timing belt tomorrow, for my peice of mind. I took a few pics of interior, its in great shape, just the seats need to be covered, everything else is mint. I also took pics of exterior rust issues that i have to deal with. Its ugly as hell rust, but i know it can be fixed. Will need a new fender thats for sure.
Any hints or suggestions on how to repair the rust would be great if you have done it before. Can only get the timing belt right now, hoping tensioner is good still, will have to hope water pump and thermostat willl last a while. Take care guys
    Cheers
    Larry

There is waaaaaaaaaayy to much rust to be worthy of fixing that car.

I'd part it. Cause of the time and money that will go into it will never come back.

            i've got time

Hey no prob, this car is a dream compared to what my 84 318i was like. i will take my time, do it right and in the end have a great bmw. I look at old rusted out cars from the 30's and 40's that are restored, sure they are worth more, but also a hell of a lot worse shape then this. In my opinion, bmw's are unlike the throwaway crap you see all over the roads today, I think any e30 is worth trying to save (within reason) they are elegant and sporty and admired. I think too many give up too easy, I think time is the biggest issue, i can do most of the work myself, and i love it.
            thanks guys

wow, everyone is saying what i said. I literally shuddered when i saw where that rust is. Id part it or find a shell locally that isnt eaten and swap parts.

why don't you just part it. Make a couple extra bucks profit then search for one with no rust. To ensure you get one with no rust why don't you import one, you live in Canada so you can. It would be in such better condition.and you can get a nice one between 6-10g's CDN

yeah ( in CDN ) I paid $8500 for mine and that was a huge steal of a deal, most of the ones in the condition like mine go for over 10 grand. I got mine at complete cost, no mark ups
