It doesn't match the angle of the rear window, and IIRC there are no mounts on the roof as there are in the M3.

      +1

I just had my brake light housing down last month getting rid of a tinted rear window, and I think you'll be looking at a bit more work than you think - like spot welding a tab to mount to, or making a bracket to get to the strength rib up close to the glass - then shaving the ring that contacts the glass for the decreased rake of your rear glass.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I don't think I ever noticed until now that the 3rd brake light on the M3 was on top.

equate I like they way you think.... I was gunna get my windows tinted and wasnt sure if that would work... im not sure if i should cut out the tint where the brake light goes either.... could the angle of the m3 3rd brake like be shaved to fit or is it too much of a difference? I dont mind spot welding.. i have fab skills :P

ps: anybody have and extra 3rd brake light for an m3 for sale. doesn't even have to be nice just together in once piece.

            thanks,
            zach

This is different, most people want to toss out their 3rd brake light!

I honestly can appreciate having one, just it being on the low side it doesn't help. Most Denali's and blah blah are all to high to see our low mounted light.

I find it just perfectly fine and have plenty other things to worry about.

I think the only reason it's there is because of the wing on the trunk. I sort of like it as high as it is, just so someone **might** see it clearer & I don't hear the sound of rumpling BMW sheetmetal.

That was the only reason I could think of when I was sitting back there wiping off window tint glue for nearly 2 hours. I had plenty of free time.
