My friend has a parts car with a mint ski bag (looks unused). Is this part rare or sought after? He's thinking of ebaying it has anyone noticed what they are ebaying for?
Not all my friends 84 318i shell was solid metal also and so was an 84 318i I picked up last summer.
I can't remember where I read it, but the ski-bag/pass-thru idea didn't come along until the E30 had been around for a few years. I'm not even certain if the development of the ix spurred the idea.
Would make for a great E30 trivia question though :D

could be, the first ix's were in 1986. any late model car should have the punch out though.
The Idea came from Audi, from the early 4000's and 5000 Q's the 4000Q did not have one due to the fuel tank being on the back of the seat. Quattro's were great to take skiing and having a bag meant no Roof rack to get frozen nor parasictic drag on the awesome aero 5kQ's.
On the not how rare they are, they were an option so you'd likely find them in Cali or Colorado or NE. I have one to put in my car when I do clothe interior. But I ski and board so I will use it. A board won't fit by the way.
