    rain + rt615s = tail happy

It rained here today for the first time (end of summer) and boy is my e30 a tail happy car now. It's only got what, 100hp at the crank, but at wot it's a drift city .. Amazing how good these tires are in dry and how absolutely crappy they are in rain...

What's a good wet tire with rt615 grip that comes in 14" size ?

Huh? It rained? Not in my neck of the woods. Must've been isolated right over your house :-P Get back to your drifting!!!

HANKOOK RS2 hands down. Has huge water channels. And they are faster around the track. Lap times show. The only downside to the rs2 is the non vinal sidewall. So therefore the sidewall is not as stiff.

Really? I figured they would be just as bad in rain as the RT615s as they are direct competitors.

I just looked at tire rack, I see good snow tires, but I can't seem to find a really good rain tire ...

How much tread on your 615s? I have never had an issue in the rain with mine, but they're almost new.

Only about 3k miles on them, 1 full season, about 12 autox days. Lots of thread still left on them.

                Wow.

I hear new/unshaved RA1s are pretty good in the rain. Pretty much any street tire that doesn't have big tread blocks should be.

My well-worn RT-625's were/are a handfull in the rain. I'd venture to agree with e30gangsta, though I don't think they are markedly grippier in the dry, just comperable to RT-615's

it's funny, because I always cleaned up during wet autox's on my old RT-215s...
