    Recaro Srd's vs Speed's

I can pic up a set of like new srds for 950 with sliders. But first id like to know what the difference is between the srd and the speed seats?
Im about 6ft and 145 pounds so i need the skinnier taller seat...

    thanks,
    zach

SRD's had deeper hip bolsters, and I was told 1/2" narrower.

Speeds were the answer to American fat ass & thunder thighs.

If you need replacement SRD bolster foam, I have a few sets.

For $950 you better not need anything though. If they need the foam replaced they shouldn't cost you more than $750-$800.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Speed has a taller head rest as well.

Definitely get the SRD's if you can find them! I've got SRD's in my E30 and I've compared them to the newer Speeds in one of my buddy's cars. As LINUS says, the SRD's are norrower through the hips and have noticably deeper bolsters. I'm 6'1" and 185 lbs. The SRD's fit me perfectly; the Speeds are not as snug. Since you're even slimmer than me, you definitely want the SRD's.

I have some pics from my own car. Here you go:

These seats came from a JDM Lancer Evo II GSR. But they're basically the same as the ones in the E30 M3 Evo III. Only the colors are a bit different (I actually think these look better in an E30 than the M-Tech cloth).

I have a set of those JDM Lancer seats (for my Landcruiser) too - funny coincidence.

Sport Evo's got SR's - kind of a SRD base with a Speed upper headrest.

Not the best pic, but gives a better idea of Evo cloth on a SRD profile seat:

I believe its srd's im going to get. Im going to try to talk the guy down to like 800, they are mint though. they are plane cloth, I was wanting something fancier. They also come with red lettering. I found a new set for 1000 not shipped or sliders or brackets ext. Its kinda like its a couple hundred more.. but then for another couple hundred more i can get this. then im looking at a set of 1600 dollar seats which i could get just basic ones for 800.

These also come with the extra hole for the 5 point. Im not sure if all srds come with that?

The 5th belt hole was an option. Original SRDs came in white lettering, later the LEs were red, and you could get black lettering. Never came in anything other then black Avus fabric, that is where the Speeds have much more in the option department.

i'm 6'4" 235 and fit in them fine... I had to "break" the driver seat in to accept some slight love-handleage, but whatever.

Seriously I love my SRDs, but will be going to a set of fixed-back Cobra Suzukas or Imolas soon.

I'm shorter & probably as round as Ted, I'm 6'0, 210. Breaking a set of SRD's in isn't a painful experience. If you get them used (no more new ones left I heard), then they already have some degree of 'break-in' done.
