Thats hardly proof that the S54 will work. S54 + E30 = no damn good...
1. Size
2. Weight
3. Exhaust
4. Mounting
You NEED at least an e36 to use the s54.
Side Note: The only part I disagree with on Alex's whole post is the ECU. Ben Liaw of RE put a S54 into a 3er touring with stock electronics. They did have EVERY part though from ignition to ECU to harness, etc.
