1987 Chevy Sprint Turbo or an 87' Suzuki Swift Turbo (same thing basically...there's also the Pontiac Firefly and one more that's the same).
If you had to own a FWD car...

Hmmmm... I had a 96 Saab Talladega turbo, with the Saab performance stainless exhaust, upgraded turbo piping and more boost. That car was a torque monster and I miss it.
I almost bought a red Spirit R/T instead of the e30, but the body was all beat to shit. That whole sleeper thing really does it for me, and I have a soft spot for those granny cars. I had a Spirit ES in high school.Last edited by alpinaclone; 09-24-2008, 10:36 AM.Matt

Was wondering how deep I'd have to go before somebody posted a Saab -- think it was 13 or 14 pages.
Anyway, I don't have the same need for speed as most of you, so I'd be happy with an old Saab 99, either an EMS or a Turbo as long as it was a two-door sedan rather than the three-door hatch. Had a '74 99LE when I was in college -- rock-solid, kinda quirky car. Have very fond memories of it.
Second choice would be another '70s/'80s car -- a 2nd-generation Scirocco. Easy to work on, handle pretty well, nice seats and interior.

Yes, i do. :)JasonC will appreciate this, First brand new car I ever owned was a 1989 Shelby CSX. The dealer had 2 left on the lot in 1990 and I got a smoking deal on trade of my Dodge GLH. These cars were really ahead of their time IMO with the composite wheels and variable nozzle turbo. Only options available on the car were Goodyear Gatorbacks and Recaro seats. My car, #315 of 500, had both!
Not my picture, but this is what it looked like. This particular car doesnt have the tire option.
I cant begin to tell you how many mustang owners I embarrassed with this car...

I've thought about getting another FWD turbo dodge. Maybe some time down the road i will...Last edited by JasonC; 09-24-2008, 03:13 PM.
