hell all thats back there is the spare tire well, diff locating mount, gas filler nozzel some wiring and lights....

dont even think the diff locating would be messed with...

I dont think a trash can did that. It looks more like a bumper just a bit taller than the e30's rear bumper pushed it in on the left corner. Those trash cans are not that solid and will give greatly before doing damage to that point. I would think it would have collapsed the rear bumper shocks which are not pushed in.

the rear glass quarters were extended for the hatch look to work.
Aparently bmw actually made a couple of these but the rear glass quarters were even bigger than that - i'm sure many of you have seen the pictures.
