Yeah, I read that Fred. But if a customer requests it and so express the reason not to install it but customer wants you too install it, have him sign a liability form.

Or you could do as they said. NO we won't install it.

I tried and tried to get him to put the s14 in storage and grab an s52, but he wasn't having it. Even though he doesn't turn his own wrenches, he wasnt period correctness and the original motor in the car.

Having said all of that, the shop he is at has ordered a 2.5 kit from Turner Motor Sports, and they will assemble the motor when it arrives. I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with this kit? I've searched on s14.net, but I haven't found what I'm looking for, and I don't want to join, start a thread and then get flamed.

I know if he wants more power, he'll need to deal with the intake/head/valvetrain. I'm wondering if anyone can give me a general order of things they would do.

Alpha N first? Header? Cams (I've read that the pistons with this kit prevent use of aggressive cams)?

Any guidance? This is strictly a street car BTW.
I can help your friend. I've done my share of S14's from stock/street to full Gr-A race spec and everything in between. PM me an email address to contact you or your friend.

No kidding, it's apparent he's not going to care about what information you dig up for him. Let it go.

            2. AN is not just plug and play, it requires lots of tuning (dyno and road) to get it right. If you friend doesn't wrench at all, I would HIGHLY suggest to keep the AFM or go to a Split Second MAF.
            3. I don't think the TMS 2.5 uses the Evo AFM or the "D Mod" chip. The "D Mod" chip WILL cause the car to ping and destroy the motor in short time. If I were building a street 2.5 I would go with the stock E3 pistons which are very very cheap for people buying E3 blocks and selling the pistons that come with them. Anything over a CR of 11:1 you are playing with FIRE.
            4. What is his budget? The TMS kit along is around $2500. The labor and machine shop work will be around $2-3k. That is a basic bottom end 2.5 and will get you probably 20hp. The real power gains are in the head. For anything more than 200 RWHP you need to invest at least $10k.

The TMS kit is designed to be used with the "2.5" AFM. The AFM for a 2.5 and a 2.3 is copletely different. It will run with a 2.3 AFM, but not properly.

Cams are great - but not the best "bang for the buck"

Don't you have a 3.2? That could be why you have some of these facts wrong.

JR Naggy is a big e30 m3 nutter from what I gather. He would be a great choice as well.

So we'll need a different AFM as well eh? I see that it doesn't come with the kit. But in the description TMS says the kit comes with everything needed.

                  Hmm.
