i've got: P195/65R14 dunlop sport. they came on there when i bought the car. why?? :?Originally posted by rwh11385I dunno why you are so set on spending $$$ on wheels now. I'd personally go suspension first. What tires are on your bottlecaps?

Of course, 16" would look less weird than big 17" on a stock ride. ;)
also, i wanna do wheels first cuz it's a more noticable change, and i dont really know how to install a suspension and i dont know if I have the $$ to pay someone else to do it.Dan

First off, doing wheels first before suspension because it looks better is lame-sauce. Nothing looks goofier than a car with nice wheels and stock ride height. Trust me, I know. I ran around that way for 6 months because I never had the money to do the suspension. Do suspension first.Originally posted by DanGillani wanna do wheels first cuz it's a more noticable change, and i dont really know how to install a suspension and i dont know if I have the $$ to pay someone else to do it.
Second, installing new suspension is not hard. If you've got the proper tools and a friend to help, it doesn't take more than a few hours.
Suspension first, wheels second. Do it right, you'll be happier with the results later.Comment

im sure it looks better than the bottlecaps.... also, easy or not, i dont know how to do it, and none of my friends know a thing about cars. if i did suspension, it would look stupid on bottlecaps and i wouldnt have money for rims for a year, im going to college next year, but i will find enough money to do suspension later. i know everyone says suspension first, but...Originally posted by Eurospeed88Trust me, I know. if you really want alpinas I say go for it.. it seems like a good deal and you can always do suspension later. on the other hand, if you're not particular about the wheels, do your suspension first and pick something you really like later, you'll be much happier. :)
also, a lowered car on bottlecaps doesn't look nearly as stupid as a stock height car on bottlecaps ;)Comment

I don't think anyone has alpinas on stock suspension. not that I've ever seen at least..Comment

This is the best I can do. Mine are the real alpinas at 16 so imagine the fakes one inch bigger and then mentally delet all the crap around the car from me replacing the diff.
This is how 17s would look on stock height:
Im now E30less.

so was I. With a sidewall of a 40 or 45 series will look like that up front (of course the rear wont look that bad) but the fender gap will be larger than the tire cross-section.
Not to mention those big heavy wheels (and tires) will increase the unspring weight on old beat shocks and springs that wont be able to handle it. It will make the suspension seem VERY progressive and even bouncy.Im now E30less.
