cf fenders for non-m e30?

So, I just went out to the garage and weighed a fender at 7 lbs. So, guesstimate 15 lbs. for both, then the CF Weight discount, 6-8 lbs. In all reality you spent $800.00-1200.00 to lose 7-9 lbs. I think spot drilling the chassis would net you similar loss of weight. And it's free.

If your trying to save weight (vs. looks) it's not worth it. The stock fenders are awfully light to begin with and the cost of the fenders would probably be better spent on go-fast parts.

What in the world can you achieve with painted CF fenders that you couldn't achieve with steel or fiberglass ones? Except for lightening your wallet, CF fenders have no practical advantages over fiberglass. Considering how light stock fenders are to begin with, CF hardly has any advantage over even steel.

it's funny, with my painted CF hood I honestly forget that it's there 90% of the time. then I go to pop it and it nearly jumps off the car.. :nice:

it would be cool to have cf hood and fenders

and do an LTW flag

but put the flag on, spray the parts white, take the flag off, and clearcoat it. so it would look like the ltw flag, only it would be carbon fiber instead of black

I'm completely behind you on this one. I think what you would be doing is completely bad ass, simply because carbon fiber is one of the coolest materials available. Fuck the haters...
