    I have hear of guys in CA getting the old CA black with yellow lettering plates from a junk yard, and then going to the DMV and getting a personalized plate to match the old numbers.

    Usually see that with guys restoring old cars to get the plate to looks like it was original.

    Don't know why I am sharing that...

    I've seen a handfull of those EU style Texas plates over the years dating back 15 years or more .

    I always though the owner just had a custom style EU replica plate mase to represent the Tx plate with their real plate number .

    But after seeing that Volvo one now ....it kinda seems like it could be state issued .

    LOL if you guys really want to know... they are made in Mexico. A buddy of mine is working on getting a few sets. They custom make them with your plate number of course... but I still think you'd get pulled over by a cop if you come across the wrong one.

    I saw a german plate with CA registration tags on it a while back, and was trying to figure out how to get one to no avail...
