    what's included in the 3k fix ?

seems like it's missing a few plastic clips that hold m tech 2 panels to body, say 10 bucks worth.
seat are just tear and ware.

mint condition one goes for 12k+ and you paid 7k for that one ?

a bit much but not out of range, considering that a plain 92 325ic goes for about 5 to 6 k's

need a muffler and a few body clips. as per dents, i don't think that's a 3k job.

So the sales guy tells me today that they won't refund the money on the estimate body damage or take the car back, but they will offer a trade on anther 7K vehicle they are selling.

I've already had one bad experience with them. Whats my next option? I looked up a Deceptive Practive Act Law that I could use against them, but my main objective is to return the car and cut my losses early.

        Any advice? Thanks,

Was it quick and messy or was it long and painful? Regardless, getting screwed like that has got to hurt.

like i told you...enjoy the car...there is really no other option...
any lawyer will tell you that BEFORE you lay down the cash, be sure it meets
YOUR expectations--not those of the dealership, the sales person, or even the
mechanic that looked the car over...if that means hopping a plane to pick the car
up in person with the understanding that you are under NO obligation, then that
is an expense that should be considered during the negotiation...unfortunately,
with the massive increase in internet auto sales, these types of circumstances
are going to become much more prevelant...i learned the hard way myself...

as unfair as it is, i honestly think you'll have a difficult time finding a lawyer
to take the case...if you aren't happy with the car, sell it for $5000, realize
that you just paid $2000 in "stupid tax", and know better from experience
next time--and yeah, and be sure to take every opportunity to completely
bury the dealership on the web like i did...ha!

If I do sell, then it comes down to which one? The 318is w hail damage or the Mtech.

dude sorry to tell you but you just got own3d.

when you buy a car its almost always as is, I cant believe after reading about eurospeed only one month ago you were not more carefull. I got my M3 off e bay but after reading about bimmermax i thank my stars! I would not buy a car again sight unseen.

Just bite the bullet work your after school job, and fix up the car, at the end of the day you still have an Mtech cabrio, yea you got ripped off but fuck it stop bitching about it and just deal with it dude, you mension that they didnt tell you about a lot of the faults...but did you ask? for more pics and all that type shit?

Anyhow. Good luck man like I said just look at it in terms that you did get an M tech cabrio, it might need work but its not all that bad. Good luck with the car.

I'm gonna contact some lawyers about the Deceptive Protection Trade Act to see if I have any grounds to take legal action.

From the pictures he sent none of the damage showed up, and yeah I asked numerous times about any defects in the body, this was all in verbal agreements though. If nothing can be done, then thank god the engine is in good condition and there is only minor body damage minus the muffler of course.

Get the word out that TAPP Motors in Owensboro Kentucky is out to screw you over.

I agree with the majority, you're s.o.l... However if everything else is in top shape another 3k to get it looking like it should isn't that bad... Just fix it up and enjoy it, or try and sell it. You could also insure it and leave it in a bad area (winkwink) Any lawyer is going to ask for a retainer, and you'll probably lose your case and be out more in legal fees. Getting burned sucks but it happens to everyone and that's how we learn. I still say just fix it up and enjoy it.

Sorry to say but I don't think those damages are that significant for a dealer to worry about. Afterall you are buying a 14 year old used convertible. True the seller could have done a better job describing the car but they're not going to point out all the flaws that an E30 enthusiast buyer would find. The car isn't even a genuine M Technic anyway, but a late iC with M tech appearance package it looks like. I would suggest trying to get some kind of compensation for the body damage but as far as the seats and muffler go...no way. Hope you and the dealer reach a happy medium.

Hate to say it, but you should have checked out the car more thoroughly.

Hopefully you can get as much fixed as possible on your own.

think about it this way.. you paid $5k for a used cabby and $3k for a slightly beatup mtech kit.. it's not all that bad.
