I've contested every single ticket, all 6 of them and every time the officer has shown up and won. I've had a judge basically tell me that I lost the case based on the officer showing up. In my state officers are paid to show up to court. So your theory of 90% of all tickets being dismissed when you contest just went to shit, especially when you live in another state than the original poster.
there is a 100% chance you pay the ticket if you just write them a check - there's a chance you won't have to pay anything if you at least show up in court. the only way it wouldn't make sense is if you made lots of money, but somehow I doubt anyone here makes $150+ an hourComment

I don't rely on the officer showing up or not - usually the officer fails to fill in a report, the grounds for the ticket are baseless, etc. how about a ticket for 85 in a 60, but without a radar reading? out!
