    You are one person. Re-read the post. If EVERYONE contested, when would the cop have time to write more of them? Think about it... he can't be two places at once, and most places can't afford to hire more cops.

        I don't rely on the officer showing up or not - usually the officer fails to fill in a report, the grounds for the ticket are baseless, etc. how about a ticket for 85 in a 60, but without a radar reading? out!

        there is a 100% chance you pay the ticket if you just write them a check - there's a chance you won't have to pay anything if you at least show up in court. the only way it wouldn't make sense is if you made lots of money, but somehow I doubt anyone here makes $150+ an hour

          your screwed in NJ. they will gladly plead you out to a different charge (no points) but each plea change is accompanied by a $250 surcharge. my last court appearance cost me $700+ in surcharges and fines. this was for 80 in a 65 and a totally BS reckless driving charge. crap! at least i have no points :P
