It's an E30 for cryin out loud, not a Duesenberg, who cares if he modifies a front valance to fit his needs. I think it's a great project, granted there are things that may be in a bit of a gray area as far as structural integrity, but in the end--motorswapped E30's are a tin-cans that haul ass anyways, so have fun. :D
