I'd never solidly mount a gearbox. The vibrations are rarely good for them. We've had a few drag cars that I've worked on that have crapped the gearboxes from solid mounting. Granted these were auto boxes, but i still wouldn't take the risk. A trans cross-member with rubber mounts should be basic for you to make up.10) mounting the tranny to the floor pan... there are frame rails right there, bracing them together might even strengthen the car - the trans xmember ties into some of the original trans xmember mounts, it picks up the floor points for longitudinal stability, but the forces will be small.
I know you mentioned that you liked the baffles and what-not in the 26 sump...but wouldnt it have been easier to make some baffles/gates to go in a 25 sump? >_>
The IE flares look mad too, I might think about getting some if I need more rubber.

Trans still has factory rubber mount. Engine mounts are solid. This is typically a good setup for a race-ish I6.I'd never solidly mount a gearbox. The vibrations are rarely good for them. As far as the oil pan, it's more than just putting a sump on it. You need to relocate the oil pickup and modify the pan a lot just to get it on. It's a pain in the ass, i've done it before. I'd rather have an aluminum pan anyway for the strength & increased surface area.Comment

CF DTM's.
Hey, if newman has lotsa cash, maybe we can influence thr remainder of the build with nifty parts at least. There is some gangster ass stuff out there for e30's. I think this thread could end on a good note.Comment
