    Can't unlock trunk with key

I have searched all of this forum... and found nothing... Was going to check on the ///M today to start getting ready to take it out of storage. Need to get in the trunk to connect the battery, but the problem is, I can no longer open the trunk using the key. Drivers side works fine. The fuses are perfect, I checked them all today and they were all fine. How can I get into the trunk?

Is there anything pushing up on the inside of the trunk? I over filled the cab's trunk once & it would not open. The solution was someone sitting on the trunk & pushing in the latch.

nope nothing filling the trunk. Only thing in there is a packaged car cover. Couldn't even cover the car when I went to put it in storage.

I punched in the ski hole plate before. Some of the welds i cut, some just broke. I probably would not have done this on my red car however.

whats wrong with the key in the trunk? doesn't go in at all, doesn't turn? I bet you could work it free if you're patient. try using heat and lubrication.

The problem with breaking through the ski-pass is that once you break open the hole, then what? Only a cat or a child could fit through there.

I would personally use whatever I had on hand. But many people warn against putting certain types of products inside your lock. Some kind of machine oil might work, maybe a graphite lubricant. I don't want to tell you what to use because I don't want to be responsible for making your situation worse.

Once my key wouldn't go into my trunk lock. I just swiveled my key back and forth, with minimal force, and eventually worked it into the lock. The button was also sticking in which I think was part of the problem. I pushed it in and used my house key as a hook to pull it back out, and repeated. Sounds like your mechanism is junked up. When you do get it open I suggest taking it out and cleaning it up and lubricating. good luck
