I think his thirst for MORE POWER and his admission to speeding (although a bit exaggerated ), that he is more likely to take care of that at one time with him in it.

I think he should build a complete 4 door eta shell from carbon fiber since he makes his own. http://bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268367

because the 10lb weight savings it will make him faster, duh :p

it's funny because I've skooled many an E30 with gutted interiors, no radios and all sound deadening removed with my heavy 4 door full interior jack & spare in the trunk POS. but what do I know? :)

Whether or not this guy needs to be flamed or not has no bearing on the fact that 10lbs is a worthwhile drop in weight. And you can do so without "gutting" the car.
It may not even be worth 10lbs. Who knows.....But every little bit helps.

Removing it to remove electrical items is dumb though......It's a car not a bicycle.

I highly doubt it's even 10 lbs in weight savings. Besides, it has an eta in it and a retard driving it.

                    OK fair enough......

Since this topic has taken a major turn for the worse I'm probably wasting my time but........

Anyone actually know the weight differences in crank vs power windows?

So he's gone from an M50 to M60 to now an american V8.

I bet he wrecks this car before he has chance to change the oil again, much less come up with the thousands of dollars needed for a good swap.

                        Ban?

worthwhile on a dedicated track car? sure, I'll agree (except most classes have a minimum weight, so you don't want to remove just anything). But on a daily? what could he be doing on his way to his job at Taco Time that a 10lb weigh savings would be helpful? Racing Civic HX's light to light?

There's a Mitsubishi Evo running around town that's completely stripped - down to the passenger mirror and door handles (WTF). he showed up to an autox once and got schooled by a stock kia rio on cheap all seasons. but he still has to drive from A to B in what is basically a parts car..

It's hard to get into the mindset that ALOT of E30 owners are ricer boys. I tend to forget....To many hacked together jobs. with 120 hp.

Yeah BUT guys like that are the absolute BEST to watch get beaten. I could go on and on of stories. Needless to say a Camaro doesn't command as much respect as a vette, audi, porche, viper etc....My old autox car was a Camaro...
