oil light

i got the motorfired up, that i had just dropped in. now the oil light wont go off, i ran it for a while and made sure i have enough oil. it just wont go off. after running the motor for a little bit it starts to die then kicks back up and just doesnt idle very smooth, and when i start the car it fires then goes low and almost dies. so what coudl be causing this nonsense. thanks.

Which oil light? If its the oil pressure, don't run the motor anymore until you find what the problem is.

Oh, well that is just the oil level light. If you know the level is fine, then its probably just the oil level sensor. I wouldn't worry about it.
