I didn't like the Kuhmo 712 as they weren't very sticky and relatively loud for the performance. The Yoko ES100's I had for a while were nice and stickier than the 712's but definitely got loud after about 7k miles on them. The Kuhmo MX's I have now are great, they have run 4 autox's and been on for 7 months with no issues so far. They are very sticky, just as good as the Falken Azenis, and seem to grip really well in the wet also. Also they have been quiet so far.
It was a joke. They are cheap budget hp tires good for one season of abuse. Scary in wet for most part as they get older.
i couldnt agree with you more. i bought my car with bald kuhmos on it. Driving in the rain anywhere over 50 meant hydroplaning action everywhere any small amount of water was on the road. scary stuff.
I just got es100s. They seem to stick pretty well to me, especially for 72 bucks a piece (for 16 inch rims). then again, i have no frame of reference other than the crappy kuhmos.
I have 2 "good" Kumho 712's up front, about 60% worn, and I have 2 Dunlop FM901's in the rear, about 40% worn. The 712's came with the wheels, and the Dunlops I paid $20 for used.
The Dunlops are OK tires, but the 712's are garbage, my car has a urge to understeer if i go off throttle in a tight corner.

I have no major complaints with Falkens. The Ziex 512s are all season, so you may want to go for the Azenis. Ive got the Ziex. The 55 sidewall is too squishy, but with a 45 or 40, they will be fine. The are decent tires for the money and the tread isnt that 'ugly'
I had a set of ES100's on a 944 that i recently owned. I was quite pleased with them, quite sticky and they gave good feedback. Ive got a set on order for my recently acquired 325i cabrio. Im sure if i wanted to spend more i could get more, but for the price 90.00 - a 25 dollar rebate, you cant go wrong.
Yeah, I have experience with the GS-D3. So long as you never have any intention AT ALL of driving it on the track, you will be all set....otherwise, dont be surprised when this happens:
As for the ES100's, I ran those on my old 325is, got 5 track days and 17k miles out of them (12k of those fully loaded on my cross country trip). For $100, they are hard to beat.
