Check out my new Center armrest :)

The valve cover of an m30 stuck in the passenger floor board makes for a very nice armrest
I just got back from going to pick up my new M30 engine that I'll swap into my e30. It's an 1984 633csi engine with 170k, came with the complete engine with all accesories minus the ecu, power steering pump, and ICV. 5 speed tranny, clutch, 12lb flywheel, and more. All just for $300
It was a very TIGHT squeze but I managed to stick the engine in the passenger seat floor board
Now all I need for the conversion is the custom motor mount arms, shortened driveshaft, E34 oil pump, and modified shift linkage and the parts the engine is missing and I'll be ready to swap it in.

Probably the first time someone has had an m30 in an e30. Bet you can't wait.

I'm not sure when it will go in, probally christmas break or next summer. All depends on what I have the money to do to the engine while it's out. I'll be regasketing the whole enigne and may add a cam while I'm at it.

Ya I can't wait. After loading the engine in I followed the seller over to his house(engine was at a friends house). On the way a ricer Honda drove by so He punched the gas on his 82 528e with a 533 engine in it. He completly left me in the dust I tried to keep up but there was no way. Of course I did have a heavy ass engine in the car weighing it down. When we got to his house I asked him what gear he did that in and he said third. I've never had my 325i accelerate that fast even when dropping it into second.
That's why I went with teh 3.3 as I've heard the power band is very smooth, and not jerky like the 325i where you have to wait till 4k for any power.

Been done over and over again. Nothing new. But it's a great engine lazy and tractable with decent numbers. Just weighs a bit. As Todd has shown they are good for turbos too.

I think me means in the interior. Bill got an m10 in the interior of his 318i that I picked up from him so I knew the m30 would fit, I had to pull the ac compressor, and both motor mount arms to get it in but I did.

That was just the long block! Not an entire damn engine. Didn't have to shift back then either. ;)

Glad you got it home safe and sound.
