    what would you make??

    hello everyone,
ok, for my final project in my materials class the professor said that we could use any material and make whatever we wanted. some kids inthe class started throwing around the idea of carbon fiber and the professor said that the school would pay for it. sooo i was thinking that i would make some custom something for my car out of carbon fiber. what would you guys make if you had the chance to do this. cant be too hard as ive never worked with carbon fiber before but some suggestions would be awesome.

    thanks,
    colin

First off, you're signature is badass. Second, make a CF sunroof panel.

I'd go with that idea. It's not a curved or overly complicated panel so it shouldn't be too crazy to make on your own.

dam that was quick, i was thinking about the sunroof panel too, but that might be not complex enough. definately could happen tho.

Does the project have to be something car related? If not, take a look at the Auto Art site, there are a million and a half uses for cf for day-to-day items.

I always thought it'd be nice (and yes, I did get this idea from the STI Spec C) to make something for the track cars (like SpecE30 and the like) to provide air into the cars. I was thinking a small vent in the roof (with a piece on top made of carbon fiber) of non-sunroof cars to provide adequate ventilation inside the cockpit. Below is a pic of what I'm going on about. It would be pretty easy and simple to install. This would really only be for non-sunroof, dedicated trackers.

i guess that would be a pretty cool idea. The project doesnt have to be about cars or about cf. But i just thought it would be cool to have something that i made out of cf on my car for free.

I'll be making some AL solid control arm bushings so that people with e36 5 lug stuff will have proper caster. But that may be a bit too simple for a final project.
