    E90 335d Torque Specs

So one of my co workers just came back from dealer training on the new Diesels. The 335d is going to make 580lb/ft at 1700rpm.

    Holy Shit

    Just thought i'd share.

I've read it's in the 400ft/lb range. When the hell did it jump up to 580ft/lb!?

The E90/E92 335d's have been putting out 500+ftlbs and 350+hp in Europe with remapped software for quite some time now .

Thats awsome numbers. Too bad the price to fill up will be nuts. Good mileage though so it might even out.

I'm well aware, but why would the techs be being taught non-factory numbers?

People have a habit of exaggerating, I get the feeling that is the case here.

580 N-m = 428 Lb-ft, or a little more than what US sources have been saying all along. It sounds like your friend got N-m mixed up with Lb-ft.

Yes - from what I've read from various online sources, the diesel 3-series and X5 will be in US showrooms by Fall. Most likely being badged as 2009 models. No idea on price, but a diesel 3 series sedan with a manual and sport package sounds like buckets of fun to me :-D
