Shipping huge things

I packed both the plastic bumpers and the box is so big an heavy, DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc. won't even ship them no matter how much I paid. What are some private companies I could look at for shipping? Greyhound will do it for about $70. But I don't think they delivery.

They're a separate company than FedEx. They should do it.


UPS also has a freight division, but FedEx freight is cheaper.

There's all sorts of freighting companies, but most require that you have your own acct.

Try FedEx freight - I've used a company called DBA (Distribution by Air) and they were good too.

They consider plastic bumpers to be too large and heavy? I ship boxes all day at work, if the max limit on a box about that size is 150 lbs. on a plain, why the hell can't they go in a ups van?

UPS & Fedex have size of the box limits. Try DHL, they are making a push into the market and are doing things the big boys won't.

Did you even read my post? DHL was the first company I listed amongst the ones that won't ship it.

Did you read mine????? They are making a push for customers and ARE doing things the others & they normally won't. You are welcome I will not try ro be of assistance to you in the future.

how did you pack them. FEDEX will do two bumpers at once!!!
Place the rear bumper wrapped in plastic (without the shocks) on the ground. then insert the front bumper wrapped in plastic inside the "c" that the rear bumper makes.
Then tape the rear bumper shocks to the front bumper shocks. Then tape the two bumpers together and put bubble wrap on the ends. Depending on guage of plastic a box is optional.

Ditto to what Wes said, I shipped two euro bumpers To Bimmersteven and they were sent threw fedex for around $40 but they just went from the southern Tennessee, to Northern TN.

That's the box I made for them. I kinda did Wes's idea, the problem is the 2 bumpers don't fit that well in together.

You could make a box 1/2 that size and get away with it. Or better yet, ship them in 2 packages.

Try Airborne (which is really DHL). I shipped a euro bumper (i think it is the same one Ely shipped! -- It has made the rounds). I also shipped a convertible top and frame assembly (folded flat and wrapped in lots o' bubble wrap). Trust me, the top assempbly was VERY heavy and Airborne charged me like 30 bucks to ship it to MD.

The boxes are what is holding you back. If need be, wrap each separately. It may cost a little more, though.

Yep same front bumper, it came from a Bauer e30 cabrio, to me, then I sold it to Bimmersteven, he sold it to you, then you sold it to Kyle. I still wish I hadn't sold them. Oh well to late now.
