    Removing 90 e30 convertible's steering wheel/airbag

I want to put the Mtech steering wheel I bought on my e30 How do I disable the airbag so I can take off the current wheel? also I assume without the bag it's light will be on. Short of removing the bulb how do I disable it?

    Thanks

1.) disconnect the battery, let the car sit for atleast 10 minutes.
2.) there are 2 torx type screws behind the wheel, remove them, that will allow you to remove the airbag portion of the wheel.
3.) use correct socket size to loosen the large nut. remove wheel (disconnect wires first)
4.) install new wheel...make sure it is completely straight before bolting it down.

the SRS will blink, removing bulbs doesn't help, you need to pick up a check panel from a non airbag car, swap it in, and your set. Its really quite easy. To pull the check panel, pull up on the bottom then it comes right out, don't use anything to pry it, it will come off with your hand strength.

      Thank you very much!!

Any clue what size the torx bolts are? I have about 6 torx drivers 4 very small (for Motorola celphones) and a 10 mm & a 8 mm.

      Thanks

I still have an SRS panel, I just put heat shrink tubing over the bulbs.

i accidentally find out how you can shut off the srs blink....

while I was wiring my radar to my check control, i pulled off the cover to the panel. that's where i noticed this bulb. the blinking bulb is inside the check control, not on the back. so when i closed the cover i actually broke the bulb by accident (seriously) and then i also removed the bulb from the back and BAM, no more annoying light.
