    Random r3vlimit wtfx

Okay so it happened once last week, odd occurance, figured I'd write it off as a random mishap... but then again today, I caught a hard r3vlimit at 3,000rpm, then later in the day again at 4,000rpm. It isn't a constant issue, meaning it isn't every time I drive the car, however when it happens it is a consistent issue, meaning it happens for that drive, in every gear, at the same rpm.

If doesn't feel like a fuel cut, it just holds and sputters at whatever r3vlimit I hit. It doesn't have that hard impact fuel cut feel.

Anyways if anyone can help from the description I gave or has some guesses, let me know, I'll being starting an electrical checkup tomorrow morning when I have time.

Coulter's little brother had a very similar issue so ee pulled his miller maf and chipped ecu and put it all stock, then after doing everything he could think of we drained all of the gas, which was probably about 1/3rd water (i think it was piss...) but I've already rules this out first on my eta since that hapened so recently and I wanted to start in the simplest place.

Plugs and plug wires on my car were good when I got it but the distributer.... it looked like a the way moths look when they hit a bug zapper. Coulter was nice enough to give me one he had laying around since it was one of those "Hey wanna help me put my new ____ on" ....that turns into a "found a lot of busted shit" days, and he has an E30 parts warehouse for a garage and tosses me every part we find messed up. Except the stupid overflow tank sensor... between us we had 3 broken ones.

Are you getting any CEL when this happens?

I had this issue and it was a combination of several smaller problems, but I was getting an intermittent CEL when the conditions occurred.

        TPS connector corroded
Crank position sensor wiring was kinked and nicked
O2 sensor heater relay was bad
ECU had corrosion on the leads from the plug to the board.

I tried all kinds of crap people suggested from swapping FPR's to removing exhaust because many agreed it was a clogged cat. Good luck.

          I don't think eta's have a CEL,I might be wrong.

e30s are like fat girls that USED to be hot, you just gotta work them out to make them hot again.

deansbimmer came over and helped out, intank fuel pump died after 250k miles of faithful service, so whenever my fuel level was getting low enough I would lean out hard and catch rev limit, so the reason it hapened once then not again for like a week and a half, was that I got more gas lol. It was more apparent once the external fuel pump became VERY LOUD from doing all of the work. The car actually has a good bit more swagger in its step when it isn't leaning out from a failing in tank pump. Very happy now.

Throw a bunch of water at the front of the car. If it worsens check the crank pos. sensor. It prolly got deebo'd by a pulley. Even if it didnt work id still take a look at it.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
