do you like your job?

Well seeing as I'm bored at work with nothing to do for now and I'm tinkering with my phone, I was wondering, do you guys like your jobs? First say what you do and then how you like it.

I am a heavyline and fleet maintainance diesel mechanic for a company that does contract and remedial street sweeping. I do like my job but it has its weak points and its strong points. First, my boss is a lazy ass and doesn't do shit but smoke and talk on his cell phone. He shows up at 11am everyday and leaves at about 330 or 4 o'clock. That is the shitty part because he is never here seeing what goes on but honestly, I love the work I do. I focus most of my day on transmissions and drivelines but in this field you don't have an exact job title. I do everything from 11R 19.5 tire changes on our big freightliners to working out the kinks in our hydrolic systems. Its a cool job but I could be paid more but I am ok with what I get paid because I really like the people I work with and even though my boss is lazy as hell, he is way chill.

So tell us about your job.

Work for a boat dealer in Texas, parts and retail ship store manager. I like it, its all customer service related and its a fun industry. It can on the other hand get pretty crazy during the summer months when the water warms up.........50 hours every other week sucks....but hey, Im just sitting here hanging out at my desk as I type :) not so bad I guess ?

50 hours? That's it. Damn, I remember the days when I worked 50 hours, that was the life. I'm around 60 a week. I usually work 6 days a week too.

every job has it's downsides, but I can't complain about the position I'm in. after years and years of working retail while going to school, getting shitty raises (from nothing to 30 cents), working screwed up hours, I can't imagine having it much better. Some people still complain but I wonder if they've ever had a shitty retail job that pays $9 an hour. Every time I go to a store the first thing that pops into my mind is "damn, I'm glad I don't work retail!"

Well, I work at a gym. Im a trainer (thats what I went to school for :( ). Anyway, Im on here at all working hours beside training sessions, so basically I get paid to cruise r3v.

I know what you mean. After getting paid minimum wage working in a restaurant I get a sick feeling in my stomache when I think about having to work at a place like that ever again. I can't complain about my work at all because I like the work I do but the pay isn't amazing.

Well isn't that nifty. Sounds like a cool job. I doubt the training sessions even get your blood pumping if that's what you do for a living. But hey, you're getting paid to cruise r3v and to be in shape. Congratulations.

I like my job alot. Imaging is fun. I do miss managing skateparks though. When I get a few hundred gs to drop I'm going to open up a badass skatepark.

Yeah right now Im basically managing the facility. Its not bad at all just boring. Youd be surprised with some of the clientele. They can really get your blood boiling sometimes!! Overall, its fine until I can get into Pharmaceutical Sales:eeek:. Too bad your not in W.PA Id help you get those oreos off:hitler:

Me and one other guy are the IT department for a local library system. My job ranges from basic tech support to deploying new servers...since it's all over the place, I'm always doing something different and I really enjoy it.

Recently the management has become less than enjoyable to work with, but it's a fun job with great hours and decent pay so I can't complain too much. It'll tide me over until I finish school and move out of NY.

I make more in 2 weeks as I did in a month at my retail job - and it was a union position too, so we had inflated grocery worker's wages. plus the bennies are way better. yeah, lifes good. :)
