Honestly bro, there aren't that many people that have replaced their carpet, for the sheer fact that aftermarket ones suck big hairy balls, and new OEM ones cost more than most people are willing to spend. My advice to you is to try and find the best condition used one you can.

Well, I was under the impression you could get carpet for somewhere in the <200 range...and to me, that's worth it. Clearly it'll last me at least 20 years, if not longer because I'll take better care of it than the last owner, and materials are better now than they were 20 years ago. I can have the carpet out of my 87 free...I'd just rather start fresh.Originally posted by Eurospeed88Honestly bro, there aren't that many people that have replaced their carpet, for the sheer fact that aftermarket ones suck big hairy balls, and new OEM ones cost more than most people are willing to spend. yeah, and now mine is a nice light grey due to fading...plus stained so i want a new carpet :)Originally posted by Eurospeed88I don't think there ever was a straight black carpet. I think black interior cars only came with the dark grey colored carpet.
$200 range is fine.. hell even 300-400 if it was OEM. Otherwise I guess I'l give it a good shampooing and dye it black.Chris

Funny, I was planning on doing just that :) I think regardless, I'm going to do that for now, but over the winter when I swap over to my new body (right Greg?) I'll buy new carpet, from the stealer if need be.Originally posted by mgoldI say pull the carpet from your parts car and have it professionally cleaned (and I don't mean renting a Rug Doctor). That's the least expensive way to get an OEM carpet for your car.Comment

I talked to them before, doesn't matter that they're in MA - the warehouse is in Atlanta if I remember correctly. I was going for the same idea, but emailed them and they explained there's no picking up.Comment

Oh, so you are in fact going to do a swap over, just with a different chassis then mine huh?Originally posted by BeemerfanatikFunny, I was planning on doing just that :) I think regardless, I'm going to do that for now, but over the winter when I swap over to my new body (right Greg?) I'm hoping so TJ, but it won't develop for a few months. Believe it or not, I'm still trying to see if there's any way of getting yours, but with travel costs and truck rental, etc, it works out to be more than I can afford-at least for now.Originally posted by DigitalwaveOh, so you are in fact going to do a swap over, just with a different chassis then mine huh?Originally posted by BeemerfanatikFunny, I was planning on doing just that :) I think regardless, I'm going to do that for now, but over the winter when I swap over to my new body (right Greg?) Problem is, I have a good sized dent on the back end of my car, and instead of spending god knows how much getting it fixed and then painting the car a completely different color than it is, I can just buy a body and swap stuff over.
Did that local guy get back to you?Comment

The guy is sketchy, I have a feeling the day before he says he will pick it up he'll back out... he wants me to send him pics, but I keep forgetting to send them to him.Comment

That sucks man, you'd think a late model E30 rolling chassis with no damage would be easy to get rid of. If I was even half the distance it'd be mine...but I'm looking at paying just as much if not more for the trans. than for the car...Originally posted by DigitalwaveThe guy is sketchy, I have a feeling the day before he says he will pick it up he'll back out... he wants me to send him pics, but I keep forgetting to send them to him.
Put it on Ebay :)Comment
