    E30 M3 4.10 Lsd

What would be needed to put one in my 325iS?

Yup, I've got an m3 diff in mine, it's a simple bolt in mod. Fun one too!

That's what I wanted to hear. I didn't know if maybe the driveshaft flanges were different or possibly half shafts, so I wanted to double check.

Got a line on a local one, so a 4.10 LSD and reman driveshaft will be in my car shortly...

Make sure someone is not passing you a small 318 diff as an M3 diff. 325 and M3 diff are absolutely of the same dimensions.

I hope not, but its the diff that came out of his E30 M3 project car, are there any markings of anything else on the diff that would indicate that? He's on the forum here. He's looking for a numerically lower ratio to go with his 24v swap.

But thanks for the heads up!

"S" stamp on top of diff and S4.10 tag, but the tag could be easily added to any diff.

                      No idea.

That's why I wanted to ask.

EDIT, from what I'm seeing the 318 is a small case diff and the E30 M3 is a medium case diff. Don't know if that's right or not, just what I've found with an initial search.

Don't worry I'm well aware of how gear ratio's affect torque multiplication and RPMs.

I'm an E30 noob, not a performance car/motorcycle noob. Although my R6 is about to be sold after almost 4 years of faithful service.

                        But thanks for looking out!

318is diffs are small-case, m3 and 325e/i diffs are medium-case. The 318is diff is physicly smaller than an m3 case.

Just look at the back cover at the top. One diff has 2 bolts at the top near the vent, the other one only has one bolt. No mistaking them.
