    Best way to rotate radials?

    I just got 5 new tires and need to know the best way to rotate them so I get the full use out of them all. Right now there are about 100 miles on the four that are on the car. How many miles should I wait before I use the spare and when I do which position should I put it in? All 5 are 205/60/14's so theres no size issues.

    l Remember from somewhere that I have to keep them going in the same direction is that right? (like if I put a tire on the right front I can't put it later on the left side)

    what kind of radials? if they're all seasons, just leave them on until the rears are a little worn, and then put the rears on front

      They are Sumitomo HTR 200's they are all season. I want to use the spare also which is also new & the same tire.

        Wouldn't be smart for a tire rotation because then one tire would be wearing unevenly always.

          Ok so only use the spare if I have a flat? Then I have 4 used up tires & a new one. There must be a way to semi evenly use all 5.

                  you aren't supposed to rotate the spare in.. that was only for old bias ply tires used in the 50s and 60s.

                      Exactly! I want to use all 5 & I am willing to do the work of rotating them. What I need to know is am I right thea once a tire is rotating in a certain direction does it have to stay that way? Also the jerk used the worst rim I have so I want that one off the car anyway.

                        you don't, you're only supposed to use 4 of them. save the spare for when you have a flat. rotating the spare in can cause problems with newer tire designs.
