You know, I recently rode in an E30 as a passenger (pretty rare occurrence, was a stock B25 coupe with H&R race and bilstein sports) and it was a really fun car to ride in. Not really the quickest thing, but even just dawdling around town it was enjoyable. Hard to explain I guess.

The first E30 I drove was an M3 and I was blown away with the handling and raw feel of the car, it was so much more fun than my E46 I had at the time. Had to have one after that so I parted out the E46 and bought the E30.

When I was 7, I caught my first commercial for the then new 325is...it was a shot of one being driven in a desert and ends with rear coming around facing the camera...I was hooked. It was in several movies as the quintessential yuppie car, so I knew there was always something to it. As I grew up, I hung out a lot with my rich relatives who then had a new 325ix. It was such a different car compared to my parents then Acura Legend. It stayed in the back of my mind.

In 1992, the e36 came out, my dad bought one after the nutty test drive we had. I became an addict to BMWs ever since. Later on my brother bought an e30 in the mid nineties and I was impressed how not far off it was from my dad's e36 which I worshipped. Buying my e30 a few years ago on my own and then my 135i last year were simply some of the proudest moments of my life. I still cherish the childhood memories and these 2 cars are the embodiment.

Same here man. I needed something more fun than that damn 4age '95 corolla. So I looked at every other car ever made. But unlike e30pwr I went straight to the e30. I stumbled upon r3v one day, became obsessed, looked for 7 months, found and passed on a few, and then found my '87 325is this February. Woman was asking $2500, paid $1200, drove home a happy 16 year old. It's now my long term project on my small budget.

But I love this car with a retardedly unreasonable fervor, so the project will not stop.

My brother and his wife had one. One came for sale at the acura dealer...happened to be a 91 318is non sunroof and we got it for a steal and I love it.

I saw a BMW in the Coldplay music video for 'The Scientist' when I was around 16 and fell in love with the style. I think it was an e28 but I obviously didn't know that then. I then found the e30 to be the perfect execution of that style and bought one on a whim while on a 2 week road trip to California when I was 18.

I wanted a smooth and powerful engine, and when I read that BMW was the only consistent producer of an inline 6 meeting those requirements, I started looking. I found a picture of an E30 and just wanted it.

Ironic that I own the 4 banger version instead.

Having grown up reading the praises from C-D in the 80 of the 3 series and 5ers. I wanted one, Drove my friend's 325iS that he got while in college as a present yes spoiled it was new. Said I must have one. Took a few years but a bunch of other marques liked some hated others.

Bought an e36 325i hated it, went back to an early chassis and loved the ease of simplicity.

since I was a little kid, think back to the 90's, I was intreguied by my aunt and uncles diamond schwarz 318i when they were living in san mateo in the 90's.
i loved riding in that car, the way it sounded, and how it looked.
then, i got my license. then made a really low offer, and bam!

when I cane to Germany the E30 was the cavalier/ taurus of europe. they were cheap and everywhere-- so i got one-- it was an e21-- but the longer I stayed here the cheaper e30s were getting. bought one for 300 bucks, cleaned it and flipped it for a few grand-- I was hooked!
