I think this is the group of people who were trying to purchase all of the e30 m3's that were for sale at the time (or at least as many as possible), clean them up and restore them slightly, and then sell them for some astronomical price (artificially inflating it because they had all of the supply). Someone has a lot of cash laid out in those things.

Terry Sayther in Austin TX is currently doing the same thing .
He's been hording M3's for a while with the intention of restoring and selling at a huge profit .

WHat a smart, yet scrote-tastically douchy move that is.

There is not "Artificial Inflation" there. That is true market value.
I used to live in the land where I thought they were only worth $12-18k... guess what... those days are long over.

Again, there are exceptions to the rule. You're not going to get $20k for a clapped out blown motor salvage title bad paint car. However, you will get real money for nice cars.

Dreamers who wish they'd stay sub-20k so you can buy one in 10 years when you graduate from college and leave your Cinnabon job... keep dreaming.

I've had no less than 3 offers on my car in the last year at prices over $24k.

Recent independent appraisals for M3's at our shop resulted in valuations between $18-36k.

to the right person. they are worth it. I could say they arnt worth it. ive never seen the cars in person. + most of them are close to under 100k

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

While the prices are extremely high, i can't say it would be a bad purchase. These cars are only going to increase in value--especially since they have such low mileage.

Those aren't really bad prices at all. On a website here in Germany called autoscout24.de the cheapest E30M3 can be had for about 8500 Euros (roughly 10-11K) and go up to prices like 24K euros (37K dollars). You can find some at lower prices but depends what condition they are in.
