13 city/ 18 highway... get about 200miles per tank and i mostly drive city stop and go.
Maybe it is stop and go, but maybe you ought to see if everything is running right, ala plugs, dirty injectors, etc.
Nah, engine is practically new so theres nothing that would cause excessive fuel usage other than a lead foot :)

          92 325iC 5 speed, Jim C. Chip

Averages taken over several tanks not using OBC, OBC is always 1-2 mpg low.

how do some of you guys get such awful gas mileage.. I drive a 325ix 4 door automatic, probably the heaviest of all the E30s (except perhaps the ix touring), but I get the same or better mileage. even if I drive the shit out of my car, I might get 22mpg.. but 20? hell no!

I have a bavauto chip, SS exhaust and 19# injectors.. nearly everything else on my motor is stock (including the plug wires!).

I've been doing mostly hoighway driving on all 3 of the tanks of gas I've used and I've been getting 25-27 mpg with a huge hole in my muffler. It should go up after I replace that.

13 mpg on the city, and on the 405 and 101 freeways (those are like parking lots during rush hour). On smooth sailing highways with no rush hour, i get about 33 mpg =)

I am with George on this...I get about 300 miles on a tank. I often drive to Portland, futz around and drive back to Corvallis on the same tank, that is about 200 miles of freeway.
