    Good Dryweather/Wet weather tires?

My Yokohama's that came with the car when i bought it are dangerously low, i need some new tires, STAT!

I drive 100 miles a day for my job right now, so ES 100's are out of question, considering they wear to nothing after 15k miles.

Basically i'm looking for some fairly priced, good quality tires that are pretty sticky if possible, and will grab especially well in the rain, since i'm in Washington and once summer's over it will be wet for another 300 days.

thanks! i'm running stock bottlecaps, btw.

do they come in different sizings?

Last time i got my tires redone on my jetta, the ones they threw on were narrower than the ones i had on before, i think.. or so it looks.

What size should they be throwing on there?

First number is the width in millimeters, second number is the side wall height, measured in percentage of the width. So the sidewall is 65% of the 195mm width. R14 = the 14" diameter of the tire.

There is a thread on it in the FAQ section of the forum.

I have the Toyo Proxes TPTs on my bottlecaps right now (they're in storage, I'm running weave right now).

The Bridgestone RE950 is also a good choice.

Go to the Les Schwab in Fife and have them put on the Falken Ziex. That's what I have on my car and I love them. I have also heard of a bunch of other people that love 'em too. They are really the only 14" performance tire they carry, but man they are great. The reason I say go to Fife is because I have heard for multipule people that that is the best one to go to. It shouldn't be that bad of a drive for you, but if your going 100 miles a day you could just go to the closest one to you.

I got a set of Sumitomos Mostly because I needed tires NOW! & they were the only 205 60 14's I could find. They are really good in the rain (it rains alot here during the summer)
And I like them They are highly rated by buyers in the Tirerack forum.

I have these, they were a great tire, they had a 50,000 mile warrenty and nice grip. Good wet traction; a lot better than my ES100s.
