I'm planning to go with a light tan or grey floor, and considering the same for the walls. Can't do a bathroom because the garage is lower than the houe, and the drain pipe would have to tun above the floor.

I'd really like to have a sink and toilet in there, but there is a bathroom right next to the garage.

Got wall plugs everywhere already. Lighting is an issue, and I like the waist-level lighting idea. I may do that on a seperate circuit. Already purchased a window unit, and have web/phone connections out there too.

The garage does have an attic. There's no access, but it does have one. I'll save the hoise for the other garage, but attic storage is a great idea. I also have a 10x16 storage bulding for the lawnmower, yard tools, dead storage. It's almost full already.

Stevie30 - that's a clean garage. My last one looked like that, and I want to get back to that point.

Seriously, lots of good ideas have been mentioned. I would definately start by clearing everything out, then do the following.....

          1) Install some extra outlets - properly grounded and make sure the circuit breaker can handle enough load. This would also be a good time to add some lighting if you desire.

          2) Fix any blemishes/holes in the walls then primer

          3) Paint walls and ceiling

          4) Epoxy coat for the floor

          5) Make sure the seals around the doors and windows are in good shape so things stay clean when all closed up on windy days.

Once that's all done, you'll be ready to move stuff in. I would arrange things in way that keeps the sides clear so you have room to swing open car doors for ingrees/egress. I can't tell you how many garages I've seen with clutter lining the walls making getting into & out of a car an act of yoga. Seeing you have future plans to build a more substantial garage, that will be the time to plan your 'ultimate' vision of what you want to go in there. Things like a bathroom, deep utility sink, dedicated compressor, a shrine-sized Matco tool chest, etc.

The kegerator is cool, but my beer days are over. I'm old, and if I drink more than 3 or 4 beers, I wake up the next day looking like the Michelin Man.

I stick to mixed drinks and vino now. Makes it easier to fasten my pants the next morning.

I saw this a couple years ago and have tried to find the pics afterwards to no avail, but a guy on vwvortex posted his dad's garage and he had a fridge painted to look like a snap on tool box. I'd say from 20 feet it looked just like a snap-on box, closer up you can see the drawers are painted on obviously but it looked sick and I swore to myself when I had my own garage I would shamelessly copy him.

There was a company that offered a full applique kit that looked like tool box drawers and handles, etc for full-sized refrigerators, but I can't find it now. I have the link on my old comp.
