Wow, that looked insane. I'll have to give it a shot the next time they are in the region.

There were a lot of E30s out there. Although our team was mostly BMW guys, we went with a Civic. Atleast it has M Stripes. You may rcognize the wheels that I provided.
Amazingly it was only 1 out of our 6 drivers that did all the body damage.
Congrats on 5th Rigmaster! It was a 72 car field, so that's not too shabby. We ended up with 14th under the name "Squeeze my Lemon."
...and of course, you'll be interested to see the destruction of the people's curse car. http://jalopnik.com/399328/destructi...the-cursed-bmwLast edited by DoriftuEvo; 07-28-2008, 04:35 AM.

Yeah- I saw the front, back and sides of that car alot during my stints in the car... ;)
Nice job BTW.
E30's were by far the most popular car in this race, I think there were 8-10 of them, plus an E21 and even an E24!! Surprised that there weren't any E28's though....
Our car was a beat beater for sure. It ran on 5 cyls all day Saturday, and we ended up in 3rd overall at the end of the day!! I think the lack of power actually helped our car last, we barely wore the brake pads, and the tires were in great shape. We worked on the car a bit Saturday night- I changed out injector #6 for a used one from our parts car, and the car was running on 6 again- though not quite as strong as it should have been. We also had to replace a front wheel bearing, and fix up the clutch hydraulics + pedal assy. Seems that the clutch pedal spring broke, or the mount broke and tore the rubber hose out of the clutch master cylinder sometime on Saturday. We were "one lap away from disaster" as one of my teammates put it, all the brake fluid ran out onto the floor boards and we were soon going to be without clutch and brakes if we had kept running.
They got that fixed, rotated the tires and we were ready to run again Sunday.
We started strong, I think we moved up to 2nd overall at one point, then we got a couple of black flag penalties- 1 for touching the tire barrier at the front straight chicane, the other for passing under yellow flag. Those 2 cost us about 30 minutes in the penalty box.
At the end of the day, the car was running on 4 cylinders and knocking pretty badly- I think the engine is done. We got an award for the fastest German car in the field, and finishing 5th is better than any of us had dreamed of doing.
Most fun I've had in a car, ever......... ;)

try harder, use some blackmail, something.
I'm dead serious, this shit is just too much fun to not do at least once.
Expect to spend some $$$, but for a baller like you- it'll only cost you the profit on a couple of trades..... ;)

im not a baller of any sorts.. im a humble coffee server.
Jonny is a lost case.. although we might be running the 24 mins of lemons on his private track.. He is driving the open mouth.. i will be driving his black alpenis.. and steve will be ridding one of his daughter's horses... Jonny does not want to go to 24 hours of lemons. Rig expect emails from me every week for the next year asking if I can be on the team.

congrats on your placement!
Just to brag a little, we had the third top speed and second fastest FTD both days.
The car was such a piece of shit, we were in the pits working on problems a whole lot... and IMHO, that is what counts in a race like this. We ended up taking out the thermostat and had to replace the front calipers because the piston melted through the pads. We burned out the syncros in second and third gears and lost all the front end pannels - one of our drivers had a dirt track mentality.
I'll post up more pics later.
