Either way hopefully I'll make it down for the Saturday racing. I'm probably going to bring a suit and helmet as well.. I might be able to drive a stint with the team I donated goodies to. If it's as hot as Kershaw usually gets the drivers will be begging to get out of the car after a couple solid hours.

I noticed the below picture on Jalopnik:
From cars to motorcycles, Jalopnik is your go-to site covering everything with an engine—including automotive news, buying guides, and expert commentary from our staff.
Am I the only one surprised to see a dog and bone E30 sitting next to one of Bob Tulius' old Group 44 Jaguars?

A guy I know who races a KP car is part of a team of Toyota people running there this weekend in an old Celica and an FX16 Corolla. My mechanic/fabricator/turbo expert buddy who is a member here (DTRguy) did the roll cages for them.
Looks like a fun time.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

We finished 5th overall, I am frankly amazed and REALLY happy.
Our car had been sitting in the grass on my farm for the last ~2 years, we drug it out and got it running and cleaned it up a bit and it ran the whole time!! We did so little prep to this car that it's almost embarassing.
They're supposed to run the Lemons race at CMP once or twice in 2009, damn right I'll be there!!
Oh, here's a pic of me (99% sure) driving our car on track.........
(the silver one on the curbing is ours, followed by the orange/green Beertech 318is)
This was by far the MOST fun I've ever had in car- by a longshot.

That is awesome. How long did your drivers do stints in the car for? If you have any tips on running the event let me know. My team of 5 drivers could certainly use the help. Having a rest period between sessions has to help. The Detroit race is going to be a full 24 hours straight thru, so not any downtime. Also how much gas did you guys burn thru? I'm still not completely sure how much money I am going to need to pay for the gas bill over the weekend.SM 19 - Serial Destroyer of Cars
