    New Guy

Hey Everybody, I figured I should finally join up and say hi. I Just picked up a 85 325E from work that somebody traded in. I've never been much of a BMW fan but when I saw it I knew I had to have it. So $500 later here it is.

get those grills painted ASAP but other than that it looks like you have a clean starting slate.

Very nice project car! And $500 is pretty good.

13 button OBC, sport wheel, crackless or low number of cracks dash from what I can see and great condition seats for 500 dollars? Great find. Exterior needs a lot of work but that is pretty obvious. Good starting platform, good luck with the restoration and modification(assuming you do any)!

does it run well? the 325e is known to respond really well to performance computer chips.
seems like a pretty sweet deal for five hundy

              Nice buy for $500

Give the interior & exterior some deep cleaning & you have yourself a nice ride.

Well the dash has one bad crack on the pass. side in the normal location and the drivers seat has normal 142K mile wear. Engine runs decent acts loaded up under hard accel. chenk engine light isnt working so I"m gonna fix that to check for codes and give my self a heads up before stripping the car.

As far as rust its got rust through on the floor/firewall area and the battery box but I've seen way worse get fixed nicely from looking around the site.
Plus I"m pretty handy with a mig so I'm not worried.

Here's the bad spots on the exterior, still no big deal.

Not too bad, You can get a clean used fender for cheap as hell. And if you know your way around a MIG you should be able to rehab that thing back to 'Gods Chariot' status no problem.

The surging under acceleration is a problem almost every E has, There should be some good threads on lessening the surge. Put that search function to work, Seems like you already have!

not so much a surge as it is a bog. I'll search around for what you described but I'm sure this must be something more.

On a side note, I have no plans of putting this car on the road any time soon, I plan to restore it with some performance upgrades. probably a bumper swap
blillstein shocks / H&R springs and a tasteful set of wheels.

Not sure on the color tho, how do you guys feel about the color on my DD red yaris sitting next to it?

*Edit* Bumper swap and wheels are not being listed as a performance upgrades lol

Why should he try to make a Panzer into a Merkava?! But seriously the color of the Yaris looks a little to flamboyant for me, I think the color of that Tacoma or whatever next to it would be way more badass

I am just playing, Morso just saying that if he can MIG than fixing the rust will not be a problem.
