This is 225/45/17 on the rear and I have a new set of 255/40/17 that I am going to sell if they dont fit.

It'd have to clear shocks. and have super correct offset. And most likely still roll your fenders.

Good news though, some guys in Lithuania are selling shock-delete kits. And will even fly-over to roll your fenders, all for $119.95 plus shipping.

Wheel width and offset? 255/40/17 is a big tire.

Like you need that big of a tire on a 318, not to mention inducting understeer into the chassis by going staggered on tire sizes.

I am running 245/35-17 on the rears on a 8.5 width wheel on a late model arched car. Had to roll the rear arch lips flat to make them fit and am running a et31 with spacers.

Oh and NO understeer either running my staggered setup... ;)

I ran 255/40/17s on staggered doublespokes on my e30 with no rubbing but i had to massage the inner frame rail. it looked like shit though. i thought it was cool for about 15 minutes but its way too much tire for the car. i had high arches but it was slammed

                1. We're fucking with fuck-o here.
                2. 245/35 and 255/40 are not close in OD.

                245/35 = ~23.8 OD
                255/40 = ~25.0 OD <--This is a much tougher fitment.

Yeah I didn't pay close enough attention to who posted this thread.

Afterwards I am asking myself, why I took the road I did with my first post?

Kenika, this is not the wheel/tire forum so EBD...

Short answer - no, they won't fit.

and your car looks pretty beat up.
