If you wanna keep your e30 retro...

    I stumbled across this:

Pretty cool for $20. Basically its a tape, and you put a SD card full of music on it, then you can just use it as a mp3 player orrr... put it in your tape deck and play the mp3s and have the HU control it.

I might order one for my m3 later this year. I want mp3s but I don't really like using an ipod or tape adapter, and I don't want a new HU because I think everything looks ugly, I wanna keep that fresh 80's bmw look.

damn, reminds me of the old cassete adapters for portable cd players lol

too bad there is no remote control, as I double it has any kind of playback control other than tape players volume etc.

It seems a great idea but how do anyone can insert the cassette with the memory card in it?

Very nice, but cassette quality still blows. Headunit mounted in glovebox FTW.

Would it work for our cars? I tried the taape adapter attached to an mp3 player and the deck wouldn't read, had no sound and the deck sounded like it kept switching back and forth from the a to b side. Worked in my mom's mercedes and my e34 though.

So how would you navigate the tracks on the SD card since the controls are ON the cassette body?

                            FF and REV...

Its like the ipod tape deck.

When you press FastForward, it goes one track forward, when you press rewind, it goes one track back.

                            Volume through your volume knob....
