    My wife wants to know.....

I have to buy a new Michelin PS2 for my e46 DD. A screw into the sidewall shortened it's life. It is a rear tire and had about half of it's tread left. I am buying two tires so the treadlife matches. She wants to know why I can't just purchase one tire.

What is my best argument for buying a pair?

:) I went through the same thing with my wife, haha. That way you dont gotta worry about the other one. But then again, how much thread is still on the good one?

PAh, told my girlfriend it's the way it's going to be and that was the end.

Tell her that new tread is slightly taller, and wheels will travels inslightly different speeds, and rain and ice and traction control reads speed of rim, not outer tire. and Blah blah blah and she'll say ok.

Just tell it could make you wreck, which in turn could put you in the hospital, which means no work, which means no Louis Vuitton (if shes that kind of lady).

Mclassy, it actually can make you wreck. I forget where the article was, but it was proven that 1 or 2 new tires with all of the other tires being bald can create sudden loss of control, even in front-drive cars.

I told my girl the tread wear on the old one makes that tire spin faster thus in time destroying your diff.
