not if they're illegal in your state, massachusetts highly forbids studded tires, but I have driven in a car with them, and its great.

5 series in the snow?

I read that they're going to outlaw them in Oregon this coming winter too. There are too many people driving with them on for 5 months (my Mom) when we get about .5" of snow (in the valley) every other year. They chew the hell out of the roads around here; I hate all of the damn deep grooves on the freeways.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.

I didn't have time to read the whole post, but figured I'd offer my two cents:
Last winter, in MN - I drove my dad's 1990 535i all winter. Had some snow tires on it, Blozzaks. The car handled GREAT. The thing I loved most was it handled perfect, it still slid around, but it was all controllable, and it was natural for keep control on the car.
