My last M42 didn't have wheel bearings.

Maybe that's why the timming chain was wrapped around the bottom timing pulley.

Well day 2 has passed.. and the car is very cool. Runs superbly. You all weren't kidding about it being slow before 3k rpm.. Is the 325i DRASTICALLY quicker off the line? I may end up selling it sooner than later and pickup a 325ic if one comes up in a color other than red. Or just enjoy this one, and bask in the wonderful gas mileage..

325s are quicker overall, but I wouldn't say "DRASTICALLY."(not enough to go through trading). IMO the gas mileage and extra tossability make up for the lack of power.

Most people do 24v swaps if they want speed comparable to more modern cars, anyway. You'll have plenty of fun with the car after doing some suspension mods and seeing the potential it has.

        Got any pics?

Cabbys are about 300ish pounds heavier than a coupe.

Stock for stock, a 325i/is will easily walk away from a 318i/is in a straight line.

If resale value is your #1 concern, don't so anything except clean adn fix basic shit like a foggy top and the odometer.

If you want it to go like stink, do an M30. I am talking breaking 100MPH in a hurry, tire shredding big ass burnouts, plenty of power to roll from 10MPH to 100MPH in 4th gear, torque for days...M30 cabby FTW!

            Closing SOON!

Well, resale is definitely not my #1 concern. Getting what I paid for is. The car just has so many things that were not disclosed in the picture. I guess the biggest issue was that he said the top was in great shape, and there were no tears in the upholstery. The top needs to be replaced, and the upholstry has major cracks, and a 2 inch HOLE in top of the passenger seat. We aren't talking a stich split, but a hole. I know it's my fault for not having a PPI done, but I asked for detailed pics, all the trouble spots, and I got something with a bunch of issues that weren't disclosed.

Should I just shut up and drive it? Or pursue him for a credit of some sort. He stated on the title that the odometer was working, I don't know if I have some sort of pull with that.. The thing is I paid a price that reflected an e30 in excellent condition, not one in fair. But maybe I dug my own grave.

              :?

How about taking personal responsibility for making a poor decision? You are the problem with this country. Did you call an attourney to get your 25.50 back? You're a waste of space.

I'm sorry but that is a poor point. If you order something online from across the country, and the description on the site says one thing, then it comes, you open the box and it's damaged, you should just say "oh I fucked up, my bad"? This is not based on a poor decision, but and being unhappy with a seller who flat out lied. At least I hope your not referencing me, for the well fare of this country. I've bought several cars on ebay based on communication with the sellers being thorough and honest, with no problems at all. I don't think my concerns are crazy or lacks logic. Thanks for the support.

Turf's attitude was not directed at you, but at Kenika...who has consistently demonstrated a lack of maturity on this site.

We are currently beating Kenika into shape. R3V will make him useful yet.

                        So, back on topic...

I do think since you bought something sight unseen, quite a bit of the onus is on you...but that does sound like some seriously unscrupulous selling, IMO. I don't know if that would constitute mail fraud or not.

                        Maybe worth a consultation?

Well spoken, thank you, I really appreciate that. Apologies to Turf for misunderstanding his comment, I've edited my original post regarding that. I'm going to tally up and itemize the unmentioned defects, and ask for a credit. It doesn't hurt to try. In the meantime, I just got back from a ride, and the engine purrrs.. The 318 doese have a little bite to her in the higher rpms in 3rd+ gears!

It is easier to replace the cluster than to fix it. Don't mark on your title that the mileage is wrong, unless you want it to show up in carfax reports as odo fraud
