        The whining is most likely a bearing like most people have already said, if it's when the A/c is on, it's the a/c, if it's when you turn the wheel, p/s pump, if it's sitting, water pump or alternator. It could be more complicated but that's the gist of it.

          You can isolate the source by removing the fan belts (one at a time).

            What sort of contact cement is used to hold the front edge of the top down? Mine is pulling up a bit at the corners, I'd like to fix it when I replace the front seal.

              I buy it locally, and it's sold under the brand name "KantLeak". I think it's just ordinary Weldwood-style contact adhesive that's been repackaged.
