i'd go with covercraft's dustop car cover. it actually offers better dust protection than their tan flannel material (according to covercraft). if i recall correctly its cheaper too. the form-fit would be rad but they dont make 'em for e30's

cool thanks for the recomendation-
couple of manufacturers make a dusttop cover, custom fit for the E30...like $39 :-S
My father recently purchased a BavAuto for his M5 and has been really impressed with it. It fits on the car very snuggly and is a breeze to put on/take off. The material repels water very well also.
Down side: It's ~$200.

get the lightest thing you can that is good for dust. in the conditions you described thats all you need. i have 4 car covers in different weights. my favorite is a super light one for my t bird. its like some of the sexy womens underwear i wear. feels nice and silky to the skin

+1 for BavAuto. I bought this for my e30 because I don't have a garage to store it in. I put it on before it's going to rain and it keeps my car looking clean for the next sunny day I choose to drive it. I plan on using it over the winter when it's stored in my buddy's garage. It was pricey (they ship UPS, brokerage is brutal) but it came with a few accessories and a lifetime warranty.
