That makes the Z4 based M coupe seem like a featherweight at 3230 lbs. Of course, the 135i will have a ton more tuning potential to make up for that extra 210 lbs of heft.

I have to say, that would be pretty badass. Did anyone see that video of the V12 LeMans X5 being piloted around the 'Ring in anger by Hans Stuck? That thing had ZERO body roll, even around the tightest bends. If BMW could produce an ///M X5 that made even half the power that thing was making (like 750 hp or something?), and give it sport suspension, it would probably be a blast to drive. I know most of us aren't SUV fans, but we're not the market, and some people do make good use of them.
The sad truth is, BMW's current 4.5 V8 (N62) is already making roughly half the power of the X5 Le Mans Concept. It's not at all a raw motor, but pretty soon a 400 bhp V8 will be powering a non-///M X5. It boggles the mind the kind of power those things are making.
