I think tons of people use small turbos on stock m10 engines. Probably different injectors/components will be preferred, but...not too sure.

The eclipse turbo will proabably work better for a low budget build. You'll need to run some engine management of some sort, megasquirt is probably the cheapest that works.

        LSD yes

        15-40 oil yes

Do maintenance on the car first. Turbo on the budget, you still looking at about 2k with all the things you'll need.

                  Both:)

Man you got a lot of reading to do.

Go forth and scour the net searching for every turboed M10 ( and then general turbo tech ) out there, this is where I started. I know it sounds a little like I don't want to answer your question but it's not like that. A turboed setup home built is NOT a turn key thing, it's either shell out big dollars or understand how to build your own. When you start hitting detailed questions folks will be there to help you. These basic ones that you are making now don't show the commitment required of such a project, there is SO much basic info that is already out there.

+1, do your research, lots of it is out there. there are also so many affordable ways of doing it. Up to 7 psi, you don't need to tear engine apart nor megasquirt, and that will boost you to about 150hp. From there you'll have to spend a little dough here and there. You'll be spending at least a grand in first throws, take your time it won't seem as bad on your wallet. After that for every other gain you'll have to be spending considerable amounts for the HP you want.

If you're smart (smarter than me) you'll buy a TCD kit. Spend money once, be broke, but don't be an idiot like a lot of people who scavenge for parts, spent a grand in gas alone and blow their engines (like some).

I do have a 4.10 LSD laying around still in need of a home, that's my pitch.

                    Hit the books, boy.

He's M10, there is no such thing, it's roll your own or don't have one.

ETA I run 24psi ( winter, 15 psi summer ) on a stock 2002 motor with an MLS headgasket, over a year now, it's all in the tune.

TCD did have it? Or am I thinking old Turbo-Tech? In either case, there's a complete kit out there.

Really, see if you can find a link , nobody has been able to come up with a kit as far as I've seen.

i think i am going to build the turbo from scratch, i have a plasma cutter and wire feed, so i think i can do all the fab work, i am not going to run a stand-alone yet,, going to start with about 5psi i think that will be enough to FEEL it, evything stock, maybe a cam thers one on ebay, sounds like it can be a little fun,, its used but i can deal with. i think i can put it togeather in the 750$ range i think . and thats not being to modest. how much for the gears???and how do i tell if its got a lsd in it? someone started to pour money in it before me, lots have been done , its got a real touchy clutch, header and new exaust. exaust needs to be welded but all new.
