How much of a drop from M3 Springs?

I'm riding on stock springs on my 318IS. I'm looking to get about a 1" drop, so I decided to look into M3 springs. I've heard or...

    1.25" F / 0.75" R
    0.75" F and R

Sounds like it's different, depending on the car?

If anyone has any experience with them, please tell me how much of a drop it gave you and how is the ride quality. Thanks.

Not much of a drop and the ride is pretty much stock.

I have a set sitting right beside me in my room here. People on the board told me that they should drop my car about 0.75 inchs. 318's are a little lighter so maybe not quite as much.

do 318s run as high as an eta? cuz my 325e is sitting on m3 springs, and the ride height went down to almost an inch. I can also tell the difference in handling, as it was more responsive to my steering wheel. Not THAT big of a difference, but just something noticeable.

THe 318 is much lighter than a 325. I'm guessing the M3 springs would drop the car 1/2" - 3/4".... hardly even noticable.

Well I hope I get an inch or more out of my M3 springs because I really need the drop.

They make no difference on an M42, seriously.

Het H&R Sports. It'll barely be over an inch.

You might get an inch drop in the front if you're lucky... probably 3/4" in the rear.

I'll get a little more if I take out the spring pads so I will have try this.

With H&R's, I need new struts, and I don't have the cash for struts right now.

Well you don't need new shocks and struts, however, you stock Boges will blow after a while (that is if they aren't already blown).

Yeah, I know, but in my mind, I will need new struts with H&R's, or even Eibachs. That's why I was thinking about the M3 springs, considering that with them, you don't necessarily need new struts and they will work fine with the stocks, without wearing them out too much more than stock springs.

You'll still blow them, maybe with an extra week of time. I believe it was TJ who very quickly killed his stock shocks with M3 springs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but M3s use the same shocks as any other 3 series short of the '84 318i.

No, they were stiffer. And I blew my stock shocks in 2 weeks with M3 springs.
