    e30 325i

I am considering buying this car, its in georgia and i am in mass so i offered the guy 3000 to get it to my front door

he said he would do it.

im wondering what it would cost to replace the two doors. I am assuming that the frame is not damaged in any way. (it was totaled by the insurance company)

What would you pay for it? it looks like its in 100% perfect shape other than the accident.

That car is worth $3000 w/o a salvage title and damage.

I'd offer him $2k delivered to your door, and not a penny more.

$3k is WAAAY too much for a 180k mile 4 door 325i (at least it's a 5 speed) with quite severe body damage. hopefully there was no damage to the B pillar, but even so aside from the doors there is damage to the rocker and that rear fender needs extensive work.

sure you want 4 doors?....take a look in the member rides section of this site and see if you perfer the look of a 4-door or a two door.

e30's are about worthless for carrying extra humans...(my 2 cents)

This car was also posted on BimmerForums yesterday. $3K is waaay too much. $2K sounds fair.....but I would try to nab it for a little less. If the owner can't unload it, its a good candidate for parting out. Could probably make more on it that way.

yea, i like the coupe more too but 4 door really doesnt bother me

and it is manual which is a must... he was asking 2500, and the 500 more would be the bill from the shipping company

Other than the nasty damage on the side, it looks to be a decent car. He's out of his mind if he thinks it's worth $2500. $2000 delivered is being very generous for a car with a salvage title and that much damage in my opinion.

i talked to him on the phone today and it isnt salvage YET, hes still trying to get the insurance company to settle differently.

depending on how much the repairs will be (im getting a quote tomorrow) and if the frame is undamaged i will offer 2300 (delivered, and with the stereo in it.)

Buying a car sight unseen is bad and BMW-Forums is filled with goof balls. That yahoo silvr e30 is a big clown over there with every mod under the sun.

Fly down via southwest out of Hartford or Manchester NH and look at it. Drive it back for $240 with hotel stay on the way.

Same name both sites. Check the 318is in Mass out and drive it down for Stu and swap rides. Check the thread out.

I bought a near perfect 325i 87 with a new water pump, tune up, and timing belt for 2000 and I think that it was a fair price for the car. It may be worth a little more since it was a friend from whom I bought it but remember we are crazy about old german cars most people are not. We should not have to pay more for these cars than they are worth. A 17 year old car is still 17 years old. e30 are not exactly rare so why bother with one that has any faults at all. These are great cars if they are maintained. If there is any significant problem with the car I would pass or offer 500 bucks. You do not need a $3000 17 year old project car. Be patient and buy the right car. All I can say about buying old german cars, and I have bought more than my share, is history history history. A car that has a clean prestine history is worth extra money not these old german shitboxes. There are nice cars out there that were cared for that people will let go for reasonable money. I say wait for one of them. Look on ebay most e30 are selling from 1200 bucks, non convertable, that is what they are worth to the free market.

                            good luck

for three grand I may sell you mine which is not a bent up POS

                              PS

dont ever buy a car for the radio.

My dad used to say that to me and it is true as day. Dont bother with that car you seem to be hooked an a piece of crap. What I do is mention to everyone whos car I admire is let me know when you are selling that car. Then when they do they may think of you and let you buy it at what they would get on trade. Geuss what trade in is on a bent up 325i , about 40 bucks at the junk yard.

                              good luck

                              let it go
